Our School aims to nurture and develop the whole child. We look to build on what has begun at home.
All classes have Religious Education lessons each day based on units of work developed from the Diocesan Guidelines 'Sharing Our Story". We welcome and respect children of all faiths while encouraging their participation in these lessons. We aim to develop within each person, respect for themselves and for others. To this end, we try to develop within the children a love for Jesus, Mary, the Mother of God, and for the Church to which we belong through our Baptism.
During Year 3 children are prepared for their First Reconciliation and First Communion, whilst the students in Year 5 and 6 are prepared for Confirmation. Our Sacramental programmes are Parish based and meetings are held prior to the commencement of these preparations and parents are invited to attend as their support is crucial.
The children at St. Joseph’s attend School Masses fortnightly, and also celebrate special days such as St Joseph's Day and Mission Day. Parents are invited to join us for Masses and special days to celebrate with us.
Every day we join as a faith community for school and classroom prayer. Teachers pray with the children daily and endeavour to lead their students in a prayerful attitude towards their work.
